The Stanford University Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship is a one-year ACGME accredited training program in Hospice and Palliative Medicine (HPM). We have a broad range of clinical sites spanning an inpatient hospice unit, a safety net hospital, community hospital experience, an academic medical center, long term care, home based care, and hospice to equip our graduates to work across the spectrum of our field as members of interdisciplinary teams.

Our fellowship graduates have had a variety of specialty backgrounds including anesthesiology, emergency medicine, critical care, family medicine, geriatrics, gynecology-oncology, hematology-oncology, internal medicine, neurology, and surgery. Our faculty also comes from a wide range of specialties and interests in clinical care, medical education, research, and community outreach. We hope that this depth of exposure and teaching can prepare our fellows for their careers as palliative care ambassadors and leaders no matter what career path they choose. For 2023-2024, we are increasing opportunities for our fellows to participate in public facing education sessions on palliative care and increasing elective time and available opportunities.
